BREAKING: Top 5-Star QB Fernando Mendoza commits to Indiana Hoosiers Over Alabama and Florida Gators……Welcome to Hoosiers

Fernando Mendoza, a standout quarterback from the University of California, has announced his transfer to the Indiana Hoosiers, choosing them over programs like Alabama and Florida.

Standing at 6-foot-5 and weighing 225 pounds, Mendoza had a remarkable 2024 season with the Cal Golden Bears, completing 68.7% of his passes for 3,004 yards, 16 touchdowns, and only four interceptions over 11 games. His performance earned him recognition as one of the top quarterbacks in the transfer portal, with ESPN ranking him as the No. 4 overall player available.

Mendoza’s decision to join Indiana is particularly noteworthy given his familial connection; his younger brother, Alberto Mendoza, is a freshman quarterback for the Hoosiers. This move not only strengthens Indiana’s quarterback position but also adds a familial dynamic to the team’s roster.

With two years of eligibility remaining, Mendoza is expected to compete for the starting quarterback role, aiming to fill the void left by Kurtis Rourke, who led the Hoosiers to the College Football Playoff before departing. Mendoza’s experience and proven track record make him a strong candidate to lead Indiana’s offense in the upcoming season.
