KNOXVILLE, TN – Tennessee Volunteers quarterback Nico Iamaleava has officially declared for the 2025 NFL Draft. Iamaleava made the announcement earlier today, citing his readiness to take the next step in his career after a standout season with the Volunteers.

Iamaleava, a former five-star recruit, emerged as one of the most dynamic quarterbacks in college football during his 2024 campaign. He threw for over 4,000 yards and 38 touchdowns, leading Tennessee to an SEC Championship appearance and a top-five finish in the College Football Playoff rankings. His combination of arm strength, mobility, and ability to read defenses made him a force in the Vols’ high-powered offense.

In his statement, Iamaleava thanked the Tennessee program, coaches, and fans. “It’s been an honor to wear the orange and white and to play in front of the best fans in college football. I’m incredibly grateful for the opportunity Coach Heupel gave me, and for my teammates who’ve been there every step of the way. Now, I’m ready to pursue my dream of playing in the NFL.”

NFL scouts have been glowing about Iamaleava’s talent, calling him one of the most promising quarterback prospects in recent years. His arm strength, leadership, and poise under pressure have made him a top contender for the first overall pick in the 2025 draft.

Tennessee head coach Josh Heupel spoke highly of Iamaleava’s impact, saying, “Nico has been an exceptional leader for our team, and his work ethic and talent have been instrumental in our success. We’re excited to see what he accomplishes in the NFL, and we’ll always be cheering him on.”
