The Arkansas Razorbacks are facing a significant challenge heading into the 2025 season, as two of their veteran stars, running back Kaden Barnes and linebacker Eli Harper, have been ruled out for the year due to injuries. Barnes tore his ACL during a non-contact drill in practice, while Harper sustained a severe ankle injury during offseason training.
Barnes was a key component of Arkansas’ offense in 2024, rushing for over 1,200 yards and 12 touchdowns, while Harper led the defense with 98 tackles and served as an emotional leader for the team. Both players were expected to play critical roles in the Razorbacks’ bid to climb the SEC standings.
Head Coach Sam Pittman addressed the situation, saying, “It’s a tough blow for our team. Kaden and Eli are exceptional players and leaders, but injuries are part of football. We’re confident in the next-man-up mentality and believe in the depth we’ve built.”
The Razorbacks will now lean on their younger talent and offseason additions to fill the void left by these two key players. Their ability to adapt will be crucial as they navigate the demanding SEC schedule in 2025.
