The Kansas State Wildcats have encountered a significant obstacle ahead of the 2025 season as two key veteran players, quarterback Ryan Chambers and defensive tackle Mason Grant, have been ruled out for the year due to injuries. Chambers suffered a broken collarbone during a preseason practice, while Grant sustained a torn Achilles during conditioning drills.
Chambers was the Wildcats’ offensive leader in 2024, passing for over 3,000 yards and 28 touchdowns, while also contributing as a dual-threat with his rushing ability. Grant anchored the defensive line with his dominant presence, tallying 9 sacks and 14 tackles for loss last season.
Head Coach Chris Klieman acknowledged the challenges these injuries pose. “It’s tough to lose two players of Ryan’s and Mason’s caliber, both on and off the field. But we believe in the depth we’ve built and the next-man-up mentality that defines our program.”
