The Michigan Wolverines have been dealt a serious blow ahead of the 2025 season as two of their key veterans, running back Donovan Allen and defensive end Luke Harris, have been ruled out for the year due to injuries. Allen sustained a torn ACL during a non-contact drill in offseason training, while Harris required surgery to repair a fractured ankle following a spring practice injury.
Allen was a cornerstone of Michigan’s offense in 2024, rushing for over 1,400 yards and 16 touchdowns, providing both power and speed in the backfield. Harris, a dominant presence on the defensive line, recorded 10 sacks and 15 tackles for loss last season, making him a key disruptor for the Wolverines’ defense.
Head Coach Jim Harbaugh addressed the injuries, expressing confidence in the depth of his team. “Losing Donovan and Luke is tough, but we’ve built a program with strong depth. We have players ready to step into their roles and continue our push for another Big Ten title.”
As the Wolverines prepare for the 2025 season, they will rely on younger players and incoming talent to fill the gaps left by two of their top leaders. Their ability to adapt and maintain their high level of play will be critical as they aim to stay competitive in the Big Ten and national landscape.
