The Nebraska Cornhuskers have been dealt a significant blow as two of their veteran stars, quarterback Ethan Miller and defensive back Jalen Davis, will be unavailable for the entire 2025 season due to injuries. Miller suffered a torn ACL during offseason training, while Davis sustained a fractured ankle in a spring scrimmage.
Miller was poised to lead the Cornhuskers’ offense in 2025 after an impressive 2024 campaign in which he threw for over 3,200 yards and 22 touchdowns. Davis, a key member of Nebraska’s secondary, finished last season with 5 interceptions and 10 pass breakups, providing leadership and stability for the defense.
Head Coach Matt Rhule expressed his disappointment but emphasized the team’s resilience. “Losing Ethan and Jalen is tough, but we believe in the depth of our program. Our younger players will have the opportunity to step up, and we are confident that the team will continue to compete at a high level.”
As Nebraska looks ahead to the 2025 season, the Cornhuskers will rely on their depth and next-man-up mentality to overcome the loss of these two key players. Their ability to adapt will be crucial in maintaining their competitive edge in the Big Ten.
