The Texas A&M Aggies have been dealt a significant setback as two of their veteran stars, running back Xavier Brooks and cornerback Isaiah Grant, will miss the entire 2025 season due to injuries. Brooks suffered a torn MCL during offseason workouts, while Grant underwent surgery for a torn labrum after a collision in spring practice.
Brooks, a key contributor to the Aggies’ powerful rushing attack, rushed for over 1,200 yards and 14 touchdowns in 2024, establishing himself as one of the SEC’s top backs. Grant, a shutdown corner, was critical to Texas A&M’s secondary, leading the team in pass breakups and interceptions last season.
Head Coach Jimbo Fisher addressed the situation, saying, “Losing Xavier and Isaiah is tough, but this team has the depth and the talent to overcome these challenges. We trust in our players to rise to the occasion and continue to compete at a high level.”
With the 2025 season approaching, the Aggies will turn to their depth and younger talent to fill the void left by these two key leaders. The team’s ability to adapt will be crucial as they seek to remain competitive in the challenging SEC.
