Breaking News:Lakers Reveal Starting Lineup Change vs. Clippers After Anthony Davis Trade

In a significant roster shake-up, the Los Angeles Lakers have announced a new starting lineup for their upcoming game against the LA Clippers, following the blockbuster trade that sent Anthony Davis to the Dallas Mavericks in exchange for superstar Luka Dončić.

The trade also involved the Lakers acquiring Maxi Kleber and Markieff Morris, while the Mavericks received Davis, Max Christie, and a 2029 first-round pick.

With Dončić currently sidelined due to a calf strain suffered on Christmas Day, the Lakers are adjusting their lineup to compensate for the absence of both Dončić and Davis. LeBron James is expected to take on the point guard role, a position where he previously led the league in assists during the 2019-20 season. Joining him in the backcourt is Austin Reaves, who has been averaging 6.6 assists per game recently.

The frontcourt will feature Rui Hachimura and Dorian Finney-Smith, the latter recently acquired from the Brooklyn Nets in a separate trade that sent D’Angelo Russell to Brooklyn. Finney-Smith’s defensive prowess and three-point shooting are expected to complement the Lakers’ lineup effectively.

At center, Jaxson Hayes is anticipated to step into the starting role, filling the void left by Davis’s departure. Hayes has shown promise with his athleticism and defensive capabilities, and the Lakers are hopeful he can rise to the occasion.
