
Georgia Southern head coach Clay Helton has announced the promotion of Ryan Aplin to Offensive Coordinator. Aplin, who has been with the Eagles for two years as a passing game coordinator, will now also take over as quarterbacks coach. His experience includes a successful tenure at Arkansas State and Western Kentucky. Under his leadership, the Eagles’ passing offense has ranked among the nation’s best, setting multiple school records in recent seasons.
Clay Helton, the head football coach of Georgia Southern, recently teased that a prominent candidate for the offensive coordinator position could be Ryan Aplin, a coach with strong ties to the program. Aplin has been a key part of the team’s success in recent years, having transformed the passing game into a top national threat. After a record-breaking 2023 season, Aplin’s promotion to offensive coordinator was confirmed, taking over from Bryan Ellis.
