In a dramatic twist, 4-star wide receiver Jarvis Hayes and his twin brother, Jonas Hayes, have shaken the college football landscape by decommitting from the Georgia Bulldogs and announcing their commitment to the South Carolina Gamecocks. The highly touted duo chose Shane Beamer’s program over Oklahoma and Tennessee, delivering a massive recruiting win for South Carolina.
Jarvis Hayes, a 6’2” receiver known for his game-changing speed and precise route-running, is ranked among the top 15 wide receivers in the 2025 class. His twin brother, Jonas, an elite defensive back who thrives at both safety and corner, brings versatility and leadership to the Gamecocks’ defense.
“We felt a special connection with Coach Beamer and the entire staff at South Carolina,” the Hayes brothers shared in a joint statement. “The vision they have for the program, combined with the opportunity to build something special in Columbia, made this the best decision for us.”
This commitment marks a major recruiting victory for South Carolina, which continues to gain momentum under Beamer. The addition of the Hayes brothers significantly bolsters the Gamecocks’ 2025 class and sends a strong signal to recruits nationwide that South Carolina is a serious contender in the SEC.
For Georgia, the loss of two cornerstone players is a blow, while Oklahoma and Tennessee will now shift focus elsewhere after coming up short in the sweepstakes.
