In a significant win for the South Carolina Gamecocks, their starting quarterback and three other key players have withdrawn from the transfer portal, choosing to remain with the team for the 2025 season. Despite being courted with lucrative NIL offers from other programs, these players demonstrated their commitment to the program and its future.
The quarterback, a cornerstone of the team’s offense, expressed his desire to “finish what we’ve started” in Columbia. Joining him in this show of loyalty are two defensive standouts and a playmaking wide receiver, all of whom turned down opportunities to transfer in favor of continuing their careers as Gamecocks.
Head coach Shane Beamer lauded their decision, stating, “This is what Gamecock football is all about—heart, determination, and a belief in what we’re building together. These guys are leaders on and off the field.”
