The Florida Gators have made a major splash on the recruiting trail by flipping highly-touted quarterback Navy Shuler from the Texas Longhorns. Shuler, a four-star prospect and one of the top-ranked quarterbacks in the nation, chose Florida over Oklahoma, South Carolina, and several other elite programs.

Shuler, a 6’3”, 210-pound dual-threat quarterback from Texas, is known for his strong arm, precise decision-making, and ability to extend plays with his legs. During his senior season, he threw for over 3,500 yards and 35 touchdowns, while rushing for an additional 500 yards. His dynamic skill set has drawn comparisons to NFL-caliber quarterbacks, making him a prized recruit for any program.

 

“I believe in what Coach Napier is building at Florida,” Shuler said during his announcement. “The tradition, the passion of the fan base, and the chance to compete in the SEC make it the perfect fit for me. I’m ready to give it my all in Gainesville.”

The Gators’ coaching staff, led by Billy Napier, has been relentless in their pursuit of Shuler, ensuring Florida’s future at quarterback remains bright. Shuler is expected to be a cornerstone of the program, bringing leadership and playmaking ability to the Gators’ offense.
