Kansas State University has announced that Wildcats legend Mark Simoneau is returning to Manhattan as the new offensive coordinator. Known for his outstanding career as a linebacker at Kansas State from 1996 to 1999, Simoneau’s return marks a unique twist, as he transitions from his defensive roots to an offensive leadership role.

Simoneau, a Consensus All-American and one of the greatest defensive players in Kansas State history, helped elevate the Wildcats to national prominence during his time under legendary coach Bill Snyder. Following a successful NFL career, Simoneau shifted his focus to coaching, where he has developed a reputation for his strategic mind and ability to inspire players.

 

“It’s an incredible honor to come back to Kansas State,” Simoneau said. “This program is special to me, and I’m excited to contribute in a new way. Offense or defense, it’s all about helping this team win.”

 

Head coach Chris Klieman expressed confidence in Simoneau’s ability to bring a fresh perspective to the offense. “Mark understands what it means to be a Wildcat,” Klieman said. “His experience, leadership, and passion for this program make him the perfect fit for this role.”
