Oklahoma Sooner Suffer Major Blow:Two veteran star Players Unavailable For 2025 Games Due to……

The Oklahoma Sooners’ 2025 campaign has hit an early roadblock as two of their veteran standouts, quarterback Jace Mitchell and defensive end Tyler Gaines, are set to miss the entire season due to injuries. Mitchell suffered a torn Achilles during offseason conditioning drills, while Gaines underwent surgery for a lingering back injury sustained late last year.

Mitchell, a team captain, was the engine of the Sooners’ offense in 2024, throwing for over 3,800 yards and 32 touchdowns. Gaines, a disruptive force on the defensive line, led the team with 10 sacks and was a key figure in their pass rush.

Head Coach Brent Venables addressed the challenges ahead, saying, “Losing players of Jace’s and Tyler’s caliber is tough, but we have depth and talented players ready to rise to the occasion. This is where championship programs show their resilience.”

The Sooners, expected to contend for a Big 12 title, will now rely on younger players and transfers to fill the void left by Mitchell and Gaines.
