Texas Longhorn Suffer Major Blow:Two veteran star Players Unavailable For 2025 Games Due to……

The Texas Longhorns have been hit with devastating news as two of their veteran stars, quarterback Mason Reynolds and linebacker Derek Carter, have been ruled out for the entire 2025 season due to injuries. Reynolds suffered a torn labrum during spring practices, while Carter sustained a knee injury requiring surgery during offseason conditioning drills.

Reynolds was the centerpiece of Texas’ offense, throwing for 3,500 yards and 30 touchdowns in 2024 while leading the team to a Big 12 Championship appearance. Carter, a defensive captain, recorded 115 tackles and 8 sacks last season, making him a cornerstone of the Longhorns’ defense.

Head Coach Steve Sarkisian expressed his disappointment but remained optimistic. “It’s tough to lose two players of Mason’s and Derek’s caliber, but this program is built on depth and development. We have confidence in the guys stepping into these roles.”

The Longhorns, expected to be College Football Playoff contenders in 2025, now face the challenge of adapting without two of their key leaders. Their depth will be tested as they aim to remain competitive in the Big 12 and beyond.
