BREAKING NEWS:Souths Are Getting Close To Committing To 2025’s English No. 7

The English playmaker Lewis Dodd from St Helens has been lured to the NRL by South Sydney, who have established themselves as a serious contender for their No. 7 spot.

It is believed that Dodd informed his colleagues at St Helens that he will be leaving the Super League at the end of the current season and signing a contract with the Rabbitohs.

Mark Ellison, the head of football at South Sydney, is rumored to be traveling to England to complete the transaction shortly.

Dodd’s arrival will raise more concerns about Lachlan Ilias’s long-term future wearing the No. 7 jersey for the Souths.

Ilias was dropped after two games this year as part of the Rabbitohs’ terrible start to the season. Prioritized above Adam Reynolds at the conclusion of 2021.

After that, in his second game back in reserve grade, the 22-year-old broke his leg, ending his season.

In Ilias’s place, Dean Hawkins has likewise fallen flat despite winning the NSW Cup player of the year award the previous year.

In 2021, Dodd led St Helens won the Super League title. The previous year, he scored the game-winning field goal to defeat Penrith in the World Club Challenge.
