The Tennessee Titans have made a significant move by signing wide receiver Calvin Ridley, previously with the Jacksonville Jaguars. Ridley agreed to a four-year, $90 million contract, including $50 million guaranteed, placing him among the NFL’s top-paid receivers. This acquisition aims to bolster the Titans’ offense, adding Ridley’s proven talent to their lineup.
Ridley’s career has been notable for both its highs and challenges. After being drafted by the Atlanta Falcons, he delivered standout performances, including a second-team All-Pro selection in 2020. However, his career faced setbacks in 2021 when he took time off for mental health reasons and later received a suspension for betting on NFL games. Despite these challenges, Ridley showed resilience, contributing significantly to the Jaguars last season with 76 catches for 1,016 yards and eight touchdowns.
The addition of Ridley is part of the Titans’ broader strategy to enhance their roster. They have been active in free agency, securing key players such as running back Tony Pollard and center Lloyd Cushenberry. With Ridley joining forces with DeAndre Hopkins and Treylon Burks, the Titans aim to provide strong support for their young quarterback, Will Levis.
