Shocking News: It Would Be Crazy For The San Francisco Giants To Make This Trade

With just a few days left until the MLB Trade Deadline, the San Francisco Giants seem ready to offload. They are six games below.500 and 5.5 games out of a postseason place going into this weekend’s matchup against the Colorado Rockies.

It’s probably time to start thinking about next year, barring an unexpected hot streak. This entails trying to build the club for 2025 and beyond by exchanging veterans for prospects. That does not, however, imply that you should forget about Blake Snell.

It’s not surprise that Snell is attracting a lot of trade interest ahead of the deadline. Not only has he won the Cy Young award twice, but he’s now pitching the best ball of the season.

While the Giants could probably get a nice prospect haul for Snell, trading him now could easily backfire.

Snell’s trade doesn’t make much sense if San Francisco hopes to compete in 2025 or still attempt a late playoff push this season. Dumping him after six months isn’t the solution because he’s no longer the issue.
