The MVP is back with the Baltimore Ravens.
After missing several days due to an unidentified illness, quarterback Lamar Jackson made his way back to training camp practice at the Under Armour Performance Centre in Owings Mills, Maryland, on Saturday. The MVP-winning player in the NFL, Jackson, had missed four of the first five practices of training camp.
On Wednesday, he took part for a short while but left after just one hour. When Jackson returned to the Ravens practice on Saturday, a number of young football players cheered him on with great enthusiasm. Jackson completed his warm-up, waved to the gathering, and then caught a pass.
It is simply erratic. You guys have experienced illness before, so I know it’s not always easy. So that’s what we’re working with,” John Harbaugh, the head coach, stated on Friday.
In 16 starts with a 13-3 record the previous season, Jackson, 27, ran for 821 yards and five touchdowns and thrown for 3,678 yards and 24 touchdowns to win his second MVP trophy (2019). Baltimore plays its first preseason game against the Philadelphia Eagles on August 9. In 2021, Jackson made three of four pass attempts in a preseason game; that was the last time he participated.
