With this newfound strength, the Dallas Cowboys defence is much improved for the upcoming season. Mike McCarthy, the head coach of the Cowboys, announced on Tuesday that Trevon Diggs, the cornerback who tore his ACL last season, had cleared his medical and was taken off the PUP (physically unable to perform) list.
He continued by saying that while it would enable the CB to do more, the team is still being cautious. McCarthy responded, “He’s such a playmaker,” when asked what the Cowboys were lacking without Diggs. “Obviously, his ability to go get the football, get his hands on a football, challenge the receiver, the matchups all that.”
“I mean, a lot of people are not expecting what Tre is gonna come back with,” Bland remarked in May, as reported by Jon Machota of The Athletic. “I am aware of what Tre will bring back.
It is going to be quite hazardous. I’m eager. After Dan Quinn accepted the position of head coach with the Washington Commanders, the Cowboys hired Mike Zimmer as defensive coordinator this offseason.
Sean Martin of SB Nation pointed out at the start of training camp that the secondary still appears good despite the scheme change. It ought to get better with Diggs back.
