Representatives from eight MLB teams, including the Yankees, Mets, Dodgers, and Cardinals, attended NPB ace Roki Sasaki’s recent start, as reported by Sports Hochi and Yahoo Japan via Dylan Hernández of The Los Angeles Times and Andy Martino of SNY.
At just 22 years old, Sasaki is already considered one of Japan’s top pitchers, boasting impressive stats over three NPB seasons. Despite expressing a desire to pitch in MLB, Sasaki temporarily halted speculation by re-signing with the Chiba Lotte Marines.
However, rumors suggest he may seek a move to MLB in the upcoming offseason, with some GMs believing he has already decided to sign with the Dodgers. Yet, such claims may be speculative, as other teams are actively scouting Sasaki, and his decision could still be swayed before finalizing any deal.
